Ophea (Ontario Physical and Health Education Association) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting school communities through advocacy, quality programs and services, and partnership building. Ophea is led by the vision that all kids will value, participate in, and make a lifelong commitment to active, healthy living.
Ophea manages the Ophea Curriculum and School-Based Health Resource Centre. The Resource Centre is funded by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services in association with the Ontario Health Promotion Resource System. A primary role of the Resource Centre is to provide leadership in coordinating key stakeholders in the delivery of effective curriculum and school-based programming, with respect to a wide spectrum of health promotion issues.
