Dr. Art Quinney, Director - Associate Vice President and Dean of Faculty of Physical Education and Health
Founder of the Alberta Centre for Wellness, Dr. Quinney has a long history in research, advocacy, communications, and administration regarding active living and has received various awards in this regard. He has been a leader and participant in a variety of committees and task forces, across a variety of sectors including academic, industry, government and non-government organizations.
Dr. Adria Rose, Vice Chair - Canadian Institutes for Health Research – Institute for Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes
Adria is a Physician with a Masters Degree in Public Health from Harvard and U.S. Board Certification in Preventive Medicine. Her training and expertise centres on child health with a particular focus on the on the study and promotion of physical activity. She has a variety of experience in physical activity and nutrition data collection and surveillance through qualitative and quantitative methods. As a clinician she consulted on a pilot obesity prevention clinic.

Dr. Mark Tremblay, Chief Scientific Officer- Senior Scientific Advisor for Health Measurement, Statistics Canada
Dr. Tremblay is presently the Senior Scientific Advisor on Health Measurement at Statistics Canada. He is also a Professor of exercise physiology and pediatric exercise science and former Dean of Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Tremblay is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and an Adjunct Professor with the Canadian Research Institute for Social Policy (CRISP). His research interests include assessing the importance of physical education and physical activity on the health and wellness of children, and especially how physical activity behaviour affects future health outcomes. Dr. Tremblay has published extensively in the areas of childhood obesity, physical activity measurement, exercise physiology and exercise endocrinology.
Michelle Brownrigg, Chief Executive Officer - Active Healthy Kids Canada
Michelle has held senior management positions with the Ontario Physical and Health Education Association (Ophea) and Active Healthy Kids Canada, where she was responsible for strategic/operational planning and public affairs, and has been an independent consultant providing strategic research and knowledge management support to the Laidlaw Foundation and Concerned Children's Advertisers as well as working with various government and non-goverment organizations in health, sport and community development. She is current a member of the Faculty of Health at York University. Michelle holds a Master of Science in Community Health and Exercise Science from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Physical Education and Health.
Elio Antunes, Founder and Senior Advisor - ParticipACTION
A visionary leader, Elio has more than 20 years experience in the physical activity sector. Prior to joining ParticipACTION, he was Executive Director of the Ontario Physical and Health Education Association (OPHEA) where he was responsible for the steady growth and success of the organization since 1986. In 1994, Elio founded Active Healthy Kids Canada. Elio holds a Bachelor of Physical Education degree with a minor in Business Administration from McMaster University. He is a former recipient of the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD) Young professional Awared for outstanding contribution to the physical education profession.

Mike Arthur, Director - Manager, Physical Activity, Nova Scotia Health Promotion, Physical Activity Sport and Recreation
Mike Arthur is the Director of Community Development, Sport and Recreation Division of the Nova Scotia Office of Health Promotion and has been working in recreation and physical activity since 1977. In 2001-2002 Mike led an intersectoral team of government and non-government agencies which integrated scientific evidence, best practices and views of stakeholders and youth into the Active Kids Healthy Kids strategy which is funded at $2.4 million over three years. In addition to Active Healthy Kids Canada, he also sits on the Board of Directors for the Coalition for Active Living.
L. Robin Cardozo, Director - CEO - Ontario Trillium Foundation
Currently Chief Executive Officer of The Ontario Trillium Foundation Robin was also Vice President and Chief Operating Officer with the United Way of Greater Toronto. Born in Pakistan, Robin is an experienced Chartered Accountant having worked in Canada and in Britain. His voluntary work has included the Board of Casey House Hospice, ICAO Income Tax Clinics for low-income individuals, and the CICA Not-For-Profit Task Force.
Gigi Dawe, Director – Principal, Risk Management & Governance, Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants
Gigi is the Principal for Risk Management and Governance with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants where she is responsible for helping the chartered accountant profession to be a pertinent contributor to corporate governance. She established and now leads the governance department and her work is focused on supporting Boards of Directors, Task Forces and Advisory Groups. Prior to this role she was the Senior Human Resource Development Consultant with Royal and Sun Alliance Canada. She has also been a Manager of Staff Training and Development with the Metropolitan Association for Community Living.
Jennifer Platt, Director- Vice President, Global Risk Management, Scotiabank
Jennifer Platt is currently the Vice President of Global Risk Management at Scotiabank. Jennifer has a diverse credit, banking and entrepreneurial background, having worked in various managerial capacities at Scotiabank, the Bank of Montreal and the Royal Bank of Canada. Jennifer comes to AHKC with an accomplished skill set in strategic, financial and operational management and has demonstrated leadership in building strategic relationships. Jennifer has also had wide-ranging involvement in physical activity. She is the former co-owner/operator of the Applewood Squash Club where the facility’s equipment was often made available to secondary schools to use in their physical education curriculum. She has been involved in various fundraising and volunteer initiatives for organizations such as Erinoak, YMCA, Junior Achievement of Peel and minor hockey. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters in Business Administration.
