Students were moving with the Kidz Count Mission!

Active Healthy Kids Day 2005 was held on on Thursday, May 26, 2005.

In recognition of Active Healthy Kids Day, Kellogg’s issued an exciting challenge to all kids, schools and families across Canada.  The Kellogg's Kidz Count Mission, ran from May 5th to June 9th 2005, and encouraged all children and youth to be more active.

Active Healthy Kids Canada was pleased to partner with Kellogg Canada on an exciting initiative designed to get kids more active.  Through Kidz Count*, students learned new activities that can be done at school and at home to build physical activity into their daily routine, encouraging them to make a lifelong commitment to active, healthy living.

Completing the mission was fun and easy…all the students had to do was an additional 20 minutes of physical activity with their class each day for two weeks (or more!) between May 5 and June 9, 2005. They even challenged other teachers in their school to participate!!

PRIZES! PRIZES! PRIZES!

Classes that completed the mission had a chance to win physical activity equipment and great prizes for each student.

For every mission their class completed they:

  • Received a certificate of achievement to display in their classroom;
  • Were entered into a draw to win 1 of 13 prize packages consisting of a $250 WINTERGREEN gift certificate to purchase physical activity equipment plus a soccer ball for each student in their class

As part of the Kidz Count* initiative, Kellogg’s made a donation towards the Trans Canada Trail, a recreational trail built to encourage Canadians to be more active.

Take it one step further…

Encourage your students to keep up the great work and stay active. The Kidz Count*  initiative lasted for 5 weeks, so take the challenge again.
